Seven twitter tips for writers

  1. Make sure your profile has a link back to your blog or website.
  2. Use an 80/20 balance – 80% of posts offering help/advice and 20% about you and your stuff.
  3. Always tweet a link to your latest blog post.
  4. Tweet the link to your blog posts twice – once at 9 (ish) GMT the other about 3 GMT. This way you will hit the morning rush in multiple time zones.
  5. Always re-tweet good tweets.
  6. If someone @replies/RT you then tweet back if only to say thanks.
  7. Get involved in conversations.
